i-Video Project

Above, is my first video creation ever!  This done using Windows Movie Maker.  The purpose of this video is to show a message that I hope to convey to my students throughout the year, that #MathIsBeautiful.  Math is more than a series of rules or a process to manipulate numbers and variables.  Math can be found all around us in both natural and man-made creations.  Each of the images is made up of shapes, patterns, and structures.  Each of these can be represented in multiple mathematical ways.  There are also mathematical concepts related but not explicitly in the pictures as well (e.g. honey production, stellar motion, the Golden Ratio, transportation, crowd movement, etc.).  My goal through this project is to help students begin to see that everything in their world is mathematically related.  I hope that even if the mathematics involved is beyond the grasp of students, they are able see that mathematics is at work in everything they do and see.
